k12 was founded in 1999 by a group of education professionals at KU who were passionate about their field. Their goal was to create an excellent, traditional program in education, but online - one that empowers parents' involvement in their children's academic experience and empowers students' thoughtful exploration of the world around them.
k12 believes that parents make the strongest impression on their children's education, and that children are more likely to reach academic success if parents take an active role in their education. k12's unique program combines online technology with traditional content and some of the world's best teaching methods.
