Welcome to Knowledge Universe in the United Kingdom
Busy Bees was founded in 1983 by three families, who decided to enter the childcare business after failing to find day care of the right quality for their own children.
'The Rocklands' opened in March 1984, in Lichfield, Staffordshire, and marked the beginning for the UK’s largest and most successful childcare provider. Busy Bees runs over 120 settings throughout the country and employs nearly 5,000 teachers and centre staff.
The founders, who are all educators, are still involved in the business today, and the standards of childcare they demanded for their own children are still enthusiastically preserved today in every facility managed by Busy Bees.
A practical child-centred approach has been adopted, where children are respected as individuals and encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace.
Children are exposed to a variety of experiences to encourage creativity, individuality and to develop self-confidence.
Aside from the early childhood education centres, the Busy Bees Group also runs an Employee Benefits business providing Childcare Vouchers and a range of services to large and small employers throughout the country.
Busy Bees is part of the Knowledge Universe family.
